Anonymous asked: Jordan, I don't know about you, but I am getting really tired of the people that jump on the Hydra=Nazi wagon. Hydra is a completely separate entity and I feel like people are trying to use the new Cap as a way of making a comic book be about something it's not. Why do people feel they need to turn everything Into an argument about race/ethnicity?

jordandwhiteqna:

Well, because we’re living in a time where there are a lot of problems with how people are treated based on  a lot of things–race, gender, sexual identity, and others. There are real problems out there that are serious. And those things hurt people, and when people are hurt, it changes how they react to things. If you pat me on the arm, I will probably not get upset at you…but if you pat me right where I have a bruise, there is a chance I would yell about it.

Point is, the reason people are upset is that there is a lot to get upset about. I don’t agree that this is one of those reasons…but there are reasons out there.

Seeing him murder an ally, Jack Flag, and declare support for an evil, murderous organization is just wrong. It’s a cheap prostitution of the character and a slap in the face to many, many people.
